Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan have a one-of-a-kind friendship, which was on full display this past Monday.

Stirring the pot at the beginning of this week, Blake tweeted a parody breaking news story about drivers “falling asleep at the wheel” while listening to Luke’s music.

"Wow! Just catching up on the news,” The Voice coach wrote. “Shocking! I have noticed some fatigue when @lukebryanonline comes on.”

But if you thought Luke would take the high road on this one, you’re mistaken. Within minutes, the American Idol judge drummed up a hilarious comeback involving Blake’s girlfriend, No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani, and their latest duets, “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere.”

"Interesting,” Luke replied. “Your girlfriend is the only reason people are listening to your last two singles.” Unexpectedly, Blake took this hilarious comeback in stride: “Hey don’t hate just cause I know how to work the system!!!”

Meanwhile, fans of Blake and Luke had mixed reactions about the exchange, some even taking sides. Regardless, there were plenty of “😂😂😂” and “😆😆😆” emojis.

“You two are hysterical! Love your music,” one person wrote. “I love you LUKE ❤️ ignore Mr. BS over here 😂,” another added. “Blake you are soo funny 😆😆😆,” a different fan said. “Blake why don't you and Luke team up for a song and settle it, we love both y’all,” a follower suggested.
