The writers of the popular A Quiet Place, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, are behind the new film as the directors. The plot follows Adam Driver's character, Mills, as the events unfold, and it soon turns out that he is not alone, having landed himself in a surprisingly sticky situation.
With the stamp of A Quiet Place and Driver in the leading role, fans were pretty excited about the film's release.

But now that it's here, it hasn't landed all too well with audiences. Some are praising it for the enjoyment factor, while others are wholeheartedly disappointed.
Be careful for any plot spoilers as you scroll through the latest fan reactions to the movie:
1.This fan left the theater on a happier scale than some:
Dude. 65 was a great movie. I was on the edge of my seat for most of it. It was exhilarating. Interesting concept, great execution. Well done. #65Movie 🦖
2.It's all about the grunting and breathing heavily:
@65movie IF you're in the mood to watch #AdamDriver grunting, breathing heavily, walking, running, falling down while playing the role of a protective Father figure who fights dinosaurs, then I highly recommend you IMMEDIATELY go to see #65movie in a movie theater!
3.One fan expressed their dislike in one simple word:
And 2 of 2 was #65movie….simply put: nothing#AdamDriver does his best but there’s nothing here we haven’t seen dozens of times in a ton of genre movies over the last 30 years. It’s not incompetent, just boring.
4.If these aren't your favorite Adam Driver tropes, then you're not living right:
#65movie was really fun! It had all my favorite Adam Driver tropes:Sweating ✅️Shouting ✅️Swearing ✅️Smirking ✅️
5.PURE CINEMA, people, pure cinema:
65 is pure cinema. Exciting, tragic, playful, scary and cool AF. The leap @beckandwoods have made as directors from Haunt reminds me of the leap McTiernan made from Nomads to Predator. Congratulations guys. 💪#65movie
6.The film didn't even do it for this dinosaur film fan:
I like to give movies a lot of leeway & forgive basically every fault as long as the movie entertains me but unfortunately #65movie did absolutely nothing for me and I looooove dinosaur movies. Such a big disappointment.
7.I'm all for the positive vibes in this reaction. The (some) people love it!
I unapologetically love #65movie, I think I’d move it to my second favorite #dinosaur movie after JP. Idk why critics give so much hate to dinosaur movies, the people love it! I mean come on Adam Driver + Space + Dinosaurs, it’s a recipe for success!! 🦖🦕🚀☄️
8.Not quite sure how I feel about seeing After Earth and Logan in the same sentence, though:
#65movie is very generic in its treatment, nothing above the formula. It felt like After Earth+Logan(Girl+Adam relation). But your idea of fun is monster vs humans survival drama this one is for you. With a very short 90 mins runtime I kind of enjoyed this.
9.One fan thought something was missing:
#65movie delivers exactly what you’d expect from a Sci-Fi dinosaur flick…a fun time but not exactly a great movie. Driver is good and the dinosaur sequences are fantastic, but while the 90 minute runtime is nice, it always felt like something was missing. Still, simple but fun🦖
10.Again, what is it with After Earth? Maybe I'm on the wrong side, but I'm definitely taking this as a bad comparison, lol:
These movies have a lot in commonMake of that what you will...#65movie #AdamDriver
11.Dope but a bit iffy on the ending:
Saw #65 a little later than I wanted to, but it was dope. It was just Jurassic Park and Star Wars combined, kinda. I’m a bit iffy on the ending, but it was fun. Not understanding the hate for this film #65Movie
12.A dinosaur film with oddly off-putting dinosaur designs :(:
#65movie: great performances by the limited cast, but not nearly enough dinosaur scenes. Oddly off-putting dinosaur designs, too. Lots of creative (non-) scientific freedom. End result is a mixed bag.
13.Did the film set the bar too high by giving it the A Quiet Place stamp?!
...And although #65Movie isn’t quite as bad as some of the overly harsh reviews, it does still feel like a missed opportunity. And stamping “from the writers of “A Quiet Place” onto the poster isn’t fooling anyone. 65 comes nowhere near the suspense & tension of A Quiet Place...
14.Space meets dinosaurs... sounds pretty good to me:
#65movie delivers exactly what it promises. A lean, straightforward, and all-around fun genre mash-up where space travel meets prehistoric dinosaurs. Some good thrills, cool effects, and a rock-solid Adam Driver performance. See it on the big screen.
15.When the hind legs just aren't doing it for you. In all seriousness, though, this fan was far from impressed with the design of this dinosaur in the movie:
The single worst design in #65movie. Like this doesn't even resemble a Dinosaur and the anatomy is just messed up. Absolutely hate just how thin those hind legs are.
16.I'm all for a bit of sci-fi popcorn fun:
#65movie is awesome. It knows what kind of movie it is, delivers on its promise, moves at breakneck speed, and doesn't overstay its welcome. Adam Driver sells the ridiculousness admirably. Dinos look great. There are even some emotional beats! 93 minutes of sci-fi popcorn fun.
17.It's giving The Last of Us dinosaur edition for this fan, and I can't unsee it:
Spoiler-free review of #65movie - it’s TLOU: Dino Edition- Ariana is a star- Adam is a sweaty and pretty dad- dinos whoop his ass like they got beef- expect many LOUD AF jumpscares- LOTS of heavy panting and breathing from Adam. Lots. 7.5/10 Would watch again.
18."A bit crappy" but enjoyable for this fan:
Went to see #65movie today. It was pretty good! I mean, yeah, some of the animals did look a bit crappy, but I enjoyed it.
19.One viewer is disappointed in 65 for not tapping into its true potential:
Alright I’m back from watching #65movie. It’s quite mid, not as bad as I expected but could have been so much better. Too many untapped potentials in this film
