It’s truly back by popular demand.

There are those who love spice and those who do not. And while you can find the usual slew of tasty, non-spicy items at Shake Shack, the brand is heating up with some spicy menu additions. One of those items is the fan-favorite Hot Chick'n sandwich, back for its fourth time.

The Hot Chick'n sandwich features a crispy chicken breast flavored with Shake Shack’s hot pepper blend, topped with pickles and Shack-made cherry pepper slaw. It originally came out in 2017 and returned for limited releases in 2018 and 2020. In 2020, fans said, “Can you guys bring this back please? As a team member myself this needs to be a permanent menu item.”

If fans’ reactions to the sandwich’s departure are any indication, there’s going to be a warm welcome to its return. Plus, the brand is already generating excitement. After releasing a teaser on Instagram last week, commenters said, “Hopefully the spicy chicken coming back,” and, “If this is not the hot chicken we don't want it 😭.”

What’s on Shake Shack’s New Hot Menu

In addition to the return of the Hot Chick'n sandwich, you can get three other scorching hot new items: the Spicy Shackmeister Burger, Spicy Fries with Ranch Sauce, and Spicy Cheese Fries with Ranch Sauce, all featuring the Shake Shack hot pepper blend. The Spicy Shackmeister Burger is a 100% Angus beef cheeseburger spiced with the hot pepper blend and topped with crispy onions, chopped cherry peppers, and ShackSauce; the Spicy Fries with Ranch Sauce feature the classic crinkle cut fries you know and love from the chain, dusted with the hot pepper blend and served with Shack Ranch Sauce; and the Spicy Cheese Fries with Ranch Sauce up the ante with the addition of cheese sauce dousing the fries.

The Spicy Fries and Spicy Cheese Fries are available at Shake Shacks nationwide now. To get the new burger and the Hot Chick'n, you’ll need to wait until Friday, September 8, unless you order via the Shack App, where fans can get exclusive early access starting Tuesday, September 5.
