I am not a fan of horror movies. They freak me out, and every time I watch one, I spend the next two weeks looking over my shoulder. I swear I see things in the corner of my eye when there aren’t things there, and don’t even get me started on any movie with a scary kid or doll. Demon or ghost, or haunted? No, thank you. Haunted dolls terrify me and this family’s story of this Elsa doll they keep having to throw away is just not sitting well with me. Here’s what went down.
Emily Madonia and her family live in Texas. Like every other family with kids, her daughter was obsessed with the Disney movie Frozen. She shares that in 2013, her daughter received a toy Elsa doll that says the famous phrases from the hit movie. This doll would also sing lyrics from “Let It Go” when a button was pressed. It was well-loved but two years later, the doll went a little weird.
“For two years it did that in English,” Madonia said. “In 2015, it started doing it alternating between Spanish and English. There wasn’t a button that changed these, it was just random.”
That sounds terrifying enough for me to want to get rid of it, but this family did the smart thing and didn’t change the batteries for the following 6 years, hoping it would die out. BUT IT BACKFIRED. According to the mom, this doll kept up with its creepy ways and would randomly talk and sing, even when it was turned off.
This was when the family decided it was time to get rid of the doll. They had it for a while and it was clearly broken… or worse. The family tossed the doll, but weeks later, they FIND IT BACK IN THEIR HOUSE. The mom questioned the kids to find out how this happened, with everyone swearing that no one grabbed it from the trash.
“The kids insisted they didn’t put it there, and I believed them because they wouldn’t have dug through the garbage outside,” Emily explained.
As any smart person would do when faced with a doll that appeared to walk itself back into their life, before they tossed it out a second time, they took more secure measures.
“So we were weirded out and tightly wrapped it in its own garbage bag and put that garbage bag INSIDE another garbage bag filled with other garbage and put it in the bottom of our garbage can underneath a bunch of other bags of garbage and wheeled it to the curb and it was collected on garbage day,” the mom shares in a post to Facebook.
AND THE STORY DOESN’T END THERE.
She continues, “Great, right? We went out of town, forgot about it. Today Aurélia says ‘Mom, I saw the Elsa doll again in the backyard.”
Ok guys, seriously, we need help. To recap for those of you who have not been following our Elsa doll saga, Mat threw it…
Madonia shared a photo along with the update, and this doll is straight creepy, OK? It’s just hanging out like no big deal, nothing happened. This doll is haunted, and this family knows it… and I know it. She clarified further saying that yes, this is the same doll.
Current Elsa update:My friend Chris Hogan received the doll today. 1500 miles from here. (He asked for it, don’t be…
“The doll has some marker on her from my daughter coloring over the years, so I know the doll that reappeared was the original and not a replacement,” she says. “Most logical thinkers believe it’s a prank, but I don’t understand how or when it was done, especially because the garbage truck had taken it away.”
Okay, now that I officially have a viral post on my hands and have received about 1000 friend requests (not accepting…
If you’ve seen Frozen, Elsa seems relatively harmless in terms of her powers. She turns things to ice and snow, but there are some Disney dark magic theories out there that point to Elsa being a little more sinister… a witch or evil, maybe?
I don’t know, but I do know this Elsa doll is haunting this family and just can’t let it go. I don’t know why, but hopefully, this family can figure it out.
