Experts Think Zoë Kravitz's Alleged Engagement Ring Is Worth *This* Much
After "it couple" Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum showed up to a Halloween party Monday night with Zoë wearing a big old ring on that finger, everyone quickly wondered if she was putting a some new engagement bling on display. While the couple has not confirmed any news of an engagement themselves, several sources spoke to People, and said they were, in fact, newly engaged.
The couple has been dating for about two years now, so it's only natural that people have questions when Zoë shows up with a new ring on. Plus, they're clearly very in love.
But are Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum actually engaged? And what’s the deal with that ring she’s wearing? Here’s everything we know as of this second.
Are they engaged?
Once again, Zoë and Channing have not said anything publicly about getting engaged, so this is all speculation at this point.
The couple was photographed while heading out of a Halloween party, and Zoe was dressed up as Rosemary Woodhouse, who was a married woman, from the 1968 horror flick Rosemary's Baby, so it’s entirely possible that she was just dressing the part (i.e. wearing a wedding ring).
That said, both Zoë and Channing have been in the public eye long enough to know that if the A-list actress is wearing a ring on *that* finger, and especially a diamond ring, it’s going to get attention.
How long have they been dating?
Zoë and Channing have been a thing for two years now—they first met on the set of Pussy Island, which Zoe directed.
Zoë, 34, previously told GQ that her maybe-fiancé is a “wonderful human.”
"He makes me laugh and we both really love art and talking about art and the exploration of why we do what we do," she said. "We love to watch a film and break it down and talk about it and challenge each other."
What kind of ring was she wearing?
It’s hard to say for sure based on the photo, but experts think it looks like it could be a cushion-cut diamond, per Page Six and Hello.
How many carats do experts think it is?
A lot. Laura Taylor, a jeweler at Lorel Diamonds, told Page Six that it looks like the ring features a 7-carat diamond which, wow.
Then, Zack Stone, a diamond expert at Steven Stone told Hello that he *also* thinks it’s a 7-carat diamond. He added that he thinks Zoë's ring is a button back engagement ring, which is a ring that "has a button-shaped metal piece at the back of the setting, allowing the center stone to sit comfortably on the skin,” he told the outlet.
Stone didn't stop there. He even pointed out a particular jeweler who might be responsible for the beautiful sparkler. “Button back engagement rings are a signature design of Jessica McCormack, so it's highly likely that Channing bought Zoë's ring from the London-based jeweler—even more so as the actress has a running relationship with the brand, who are one of her favorites.”
While it's still not clear if McCormack did, in fact, make Zoe's new ring, people on Instagram have already started commenting on her posts, including one of a very large diamond ring in a button back setting, stating, "Is this for who we think it is!? Those blurry pics still seem SOMEWHAT recognizable 🫶🏻🤘🏼."
The same jeweler then posted another close-up of the same ring in an Instagram on Tuesday morning after the news broke, captioning the post, "Happy Halloween 🖤 Why let the kids have all the fun..?? We’ve got treats for dayyssss (no tricks)."
And here are more types of button back rings she designs:
How much did Zoe's engagement ring cost?
The cost of an engagement ring doesn’t matter, of course, but it’s understandable to be curious. While it's hard to be sure, Stone estimated that the ring is worth $300,000, while Taylor said it may be worth up to $550,000.
If the rumors are true, congratulations are in order for Channing and Zoë! Cheers to the happy couple.
