There is no shortage of stunning sights to see in the nighttime sky—and now, thanks to Norwegian cruise line company Hurtigruten, two lucky guests will be able to see a solar eclipse that only happens once every 400 years. So you definitely won’t want to miss this opportunity!

The voyage will take you to the South Orkney Islands—which are located approximately 400 miles northeast of the Antarctica Peninsula—so that you can see the December 4th solar eclipse in all of its glory, which will last just two minutes.

The 23-day-long trip leaves from Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 22nd—but you can also join an 18-day-long adventure that leaves from Santiago, Chile, on November 24th.

Throughout the expedition, you’ll touch down in the Antarctic Peninsula, the Falkland, the South Georgia islands, and Ushuaia, and go through the Drake Passage.

And if you’re wondering about what to pack, keep in mind that it will be summer in December in the Antarctic!

If you can’t make this particular trip, fear not, as there are plenty of Hurtigruten cruises all year round. Plus, the maximum capacity for the cruise line's ships is 500 people, so there's ample room for you and a guest or two.

Ready to book your trip to the South Orkney Islands? It’ll set you back $18,000—but it’ll be a great way to bring in the new year!
