During New York Fashion Week, Gigi Hadid waltzed into the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party wearing a spangly black minidress. While it would have been safe to assume that the megamodel would be wearing a haute couture piece to such a lavish affair, this was not the case. By the time Hadid’s well-heeled foot had stepped into the Plaza Hotel, Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing had proudly posted multiple Instagrams announcing that the look was from his highly anticipated limited-edition collaboration with H&M.
Well, one week on and we’re thatmuchcloser to the worldwide release of the collection on November 5. And to whet our appetites, the retail giant has shared the Mario Sorrenti-lensed campaign exclusively with Yahoo Style. Hopping aboard the Balmain x H&M train is none other that Hadid herself with fellow Balmain army babes Kendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn, Hao Yun Xiang, and Dudley O’Shaughnessy. The clothes that they are wearing are exact replicas of Rousteing’s signature hits—the intricately embellished, pearl-laded tops and blazers, high waist pants, plunging minidresses worn with oversized chandelier earrings—all evoking a Dynasty-era glamour for the modern day jet set. With prices ranging from $17.99 for the rings and beanies to $649 for that aforementioned dress that Hadid wore to the Bazaar party, we can only assume that the #BalmainArmy will grow exponentially come this winter.
