Exclusive: Noemi Gonzalez on the Importance of Being Open to Meeting New People

At its core, Hulu's The Valet, featuring powerhouses Eugenio Derbez, Samara Weaving, the late Carmen Salinas and Noemi Gonzalez, is a film about taking chances and being open to experiences with the most unlikely of people.

Noemi Gonzalez, who has appeared in hit shows like Selena: The Series and East Los High, takes on the role of Clara with grace and poise—a clear reminder of her talent and why her star is on the rise.

"I think it's important to have openness to meeting different people, different backgrounds, different positions, because there's always an opportunity there. There's always an opportunity to learn something about not only the other person, but yourself," she tells People Chica.

Gonzalez admits that it is in these moments, the little unexpected ones, where beauty happens.

She continues, "And when you do that, there's obviously more opportunity for some beauty and some some heart, some comedy, some smiles, some laughter. I think it's really nice to be a part of a movie that really celebrates that and really shows when you take the opportunity to make eye contact. So it's just nice to be a little kinder and have that reminder during these times and to stay open because then you might be able to have that connection. That's that can be beautiful.

Another opportunity the actress was presented with was the ability to work alongside the iconic Mexican actress, Carmen Salinas.

"Oof, as a Latina was it was a big deal," Gonzalez says.

She recalls, "I saw her at my hotel first and I didn't know who had [been] booked to play my mom. And when I saw her at the reception, I was like, 'Carmen Salinas!'"

She concluded, "I was just so humbled to be working with such a legend that, you know, my mom grew up with."
