Netflix fiends, meet your new obsession. The streaming service is premiering its show Deaf U this weekend. The reality series (which is a highly addicting watch) follows a group of deaf students who attend Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., which is a very-big-deal private college for the deaf and hard of hearing. The cameras catch all the drama that usually comes with college—the breakups, makeups, and hookups—but the series also explores the huge range of experiences that come with being non-hearing. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen on the platform.
If you have already watched the entire show and are dying to know what the cast members are up to now, we’ve got you covered. And we’ve included their Instagram handles for your research purposes. Enjoy!
Bio: “A rising social media influencer who isn’t afraid to stand out and doesn’t always fit in with the Gallaudet crowd.” Sounds like a recipe for drama, am I right?

What she’s up to now: Cheyenna decided to leave Gallaudet at the end of season 1. She’s currently studying at Washington State University, and she’s hoping to graduate this winter. She’s still an active YouTuber.
Bio: “A self-described ‘bad boy’ and Gallaudet football player who knows how to play the field—in every way.” Any man who describes himself as a bad boy is…up to no good.
Instagram: Unfortunately, Rodney doesn’t have a public Instagram. Sorry for all of you who wanted to creep! Better luck next time.
What he’s up to now: Because Rodney doesn’t have public social media, it’s hard to figure out exactly what he’s doing these days. But he’s still listed on the Gallaudet football website, so we can assume he still goes to school there.
Bio: “Queen bee of the Gallaudet ‘elites’—the deaf students who come from a long line of non-hearing families.” I’m getting major Gossip Girl vibes here, and my reaction to that is yes, sign me up.

What she’s up to now: From the looks of it on Instagram, Tessa graduated in 2019! Congrats, Tessa! It’s not super clear what she’s up to now though.
Bio: “A member of the elite, but she’s on her own journey of self-discovery and marches to the beat of her own drum.” Sounds like my kinda girl!

What she’s up to now: Based on this Instagram, it looks like Alexa and Braxton might still be hanging out (at least, they were as of August). And if you look at her Facebook page, it says that she graduated from Gallaudet in April.
Bio: “Pansexual social activist who isn’t afraid to show up to a protest or share a love poem at slam poetry night.” Who doesn’t love a good slam poetry love confession?
A post shared by Renate Rose 😋 (@renate.rose) on Sep 20, 2019 at 7:17am PDT
What she’s up to now: Okay, so! After creeping on her Instagram, we discovered that Renate planned to take off this year to travel the world before grad school. Coronavirus had other plans, so now she’s enrolled in online grad school at Eastern Illinois University. It very much looks like she and Tayla are still together.
Bio: “A loyal friend who has trouble expressing his true emotions and who’s slowly coming to terms with his painful past.” Okay, looks like this show is also going to hit us right in the feels.
A post shared by Daequan D. Taylor (@d_taylor14) on Jul 7, 2020 at 7:46am PDT
What he’s up to now: While Daequan technically does have social media, it’s pretty hard to figure out exactly what he’s up to these days. This past August, he posted about missing football, so it’s probably safe to assume he graduated.
Bio: “The most laid-back member of the friend group, a dedicated Gallaudet football player who spends his free time at the local brewery.” Compared to the rest of these cast members, Dalton seems like he’ll serve as the calming presence on the show. Every series needs one!

What he’s up to now: Again, kinda hard to tell. According to his Instagram bio, he’s set to graduate in 2021. It looks like he’s living his best outdoor life these days.
