Everything We Know About The White Lotus Season 3

HBO Max’s murder mystery hit The White Lotus has been renewed for a third season, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed on November 18.

The news comes a few weeks after the premiere of the second season, which stars Meghann Fahy, Haley Lu Richardson, Aubrey Plaza, and Theo James, as well as the inimitable Jennifer Coolidge, who won an Emmy for her role as Tanya in season one.

The show’s creator, Mike White, also took home an Emmy for his work on season one of the show, as did outstanding supporting actor Murray Bartlett. Several members of the ensemble cast received nominations as well, including Sydney Sweeney, Connie Britton, Jake Lacey, Steve Zahn, Natasha Rothwell, and Alexandra Daddario. In total, the show took home 10 Emmys in 2022.

We may not yet know the answer to “who did it” (or even “who died”) in season two, but it’s never too early to start making predictions about season three.

What's the premise?

The next season of the acclaimed show will follow a new group of guests at a different White Lotus resort, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Seasons one and two took place in Hawaii and Sicily, respectively.

Which cast members are returning?

Only two characters from season one made it to season two—Coolidge’s Tanya and Jon Gries’s Greg Hunt—so we’re probably in for a new faces in season three. There's no word yet whether Coolidge, who is also a friend of White’s, will return. (Though I guess it would be a bit of a spoiler if they told us.)

When will it premiere?

A premiere date has not yet been disclosed. However, based on the turnaround between seasons one and two, we could tentatively guess fall 2023. But again, that’s just a guess!

In an interview with Glamour, season two’s Meghann Fahy spoke about White’s speedy turnaround. “We did get all of the scripts right up front, which is just a testament to Mike and his process,” she said. “I mean, he writes so quickly and he doesn’t do many revisions.”

Fingers crossed season three’s scripts will come to Mike White just as quickly as the earlier seasons’ did…
