In light of recent allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, women across the country have organized a walkout in order to show solidarity with those whose lives have been affected by sexual assault, including those who have been ignored, not believed, or pushed into silence. Below, everything you need to know about Monday's event:

What? A national walkout to show support for survivors of sexual violence, including Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, who have recently come forward with sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Those participating in the walkout are encouraged to wear black and post photos to social media with the hashtag #BelieveSurvivors.

When? Monday, September 24, at 1 P.M. EST.

Where? The walkout will take place nationwide with a flagship event in Washington D.C., where people will gather at the Hart Senate Office Building before walking to the steps of the Supreme Court.

Who? A number of organizations, including Planned Parenthood Action Fund, National Women’s Law Center, National Domestic Workers Alliance, and the Women's March, along with advocates and survivors, will participate in the walkout, where they will also call for Senators to vote against Kavanaugh joining the Supreme Court.

In a press release, Tarana Burke, the founder of the #MeToo movement, said, "So often, survivors struggle to disclose their assault or abuse and when they do, the response is similar to what we’re seeing now. It’s been almost 30 years since Anita Hill’s testimony and we want to ensure that the Senate Judiciary Committee does the right thing this time."

Is there a Facebook event for the walkout? Yes! Learn more here.
