Everything we know about Lockwood and Co season 2
Fans of supernatural teen shows (hello, Riverdale) were besides themselves when Netflix announced Lockwood & Co, starring Bridgerton's Ruby Stokes. The show follows a girl with psychic abilities, who joins a ghost-hunting agency made up of two teenage boys, in an attempt to fight the deadly spirits currently haunting London.
If you're already looking ahead to a potential Lockwood & Co season two, here's everything you need to know, from expected release date, cast, storyline and more.
Has Lockwood & Co season 2 been confirmed?
Currently, there's no word on whether Netflix will renew Lockwood and Co. The first series of the show was announced all the way back in September 2017, before Netflix confirmed they had acquired it in December 2020. Filming for the series then began in July 2021, before dropping on the streaming platform 18 months later in January 2023.
Within days of its release, season one of Lockwood & Co shot into the Top 10 most-watched shows on Netflix, which is an encouraging sign for fans hoping to see the season renewed for more episode.
Please?!
What have the cast said about Lockwood & Co season 2?
Speaking about her desire to make Lockwood & Co into a multi-series show, Ruby Stokes, who plays Lucy Carlyle, told Cosmopolitan UK, "100%. I'd love to see it go again. That's what I hoped for. I'd love to see Lucy's character evolve, and see where Lockwood and Co goes.. Who else might come to the agency or leave the agency in turn? Yeah, I'd love to."
Sounds positive! Speaking about what she likes about the role, Ruby continued, "What attracted me to the role of Lucy was that she's not just the centre of the story, or the hero, but she's a well-rounded, fleshed out, very normal teenage girl.
"She manages to balance this ghost world with going through that universal experience of being a teenager, while speaking her mind and being unapologetically herself. She reminded me a lot of myself - only [she's] much cooler."
Creator and director Joe Cornish has also expressed an interest in more episodes, telling EW.com he would "would love to" make more Lockwood & Co, adding, "You know, the books get better and better, the world is explored in a very unexpected and exciting way, there’s some incredible set pieces and twists and new directions to come. We very, very much hope people watch and enjoy and that we can carry on telling the story that Jonathan Stroud has so brilliantly written.”
What might happen in Lockwood & Co season 2?
In case you didn't know Lockwood & Co is actually based on a number of books by Jonathan Stroud: specifically, the first two books in the series of six, called The Streaming Staircase and The Whispering Skull.
If the show were to be renewed for more episodes, there's loads of material that Netflix could take inspiration from - including the third book, The Dagger In The Desk and The Hollow Boy.
The third book description explains.. "Lockwood & Co appear to have been excluded from the huge team of Agents investigating the Chelsea Outbreak. Surely this is the perfect chance for them to show once and for all that they're actually the best in town? Well, that's if they can put aside their personal differences for long enough to march into action with their rapiers, salt and iron..."

While it hasn't been confirmed, so we don't know for sure, fans can assume all the recognisable faces would be back for another instalment. Those include:
