Don your leotards and dig out your leg-warmers, GLOW season three is almost here! It was touch and go for a bit, but you will most definitely see the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling in their move the desert. This is 100% well deserved, as the show is nominated for a whopping 10 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Betty Gilpin.

Here’s what we know about season three so far:

1. Season 3 might be a surprise to some.

For a while—fine, just a couple months—it looked like GLOW was going to end with just the thought of the ladies and Sam going to Las Vegas. No one expected to actually see it on screen. In July 2018, co-creator Carly Mensch revealed at a GLOW panel that there were no plans for a third season, despite being at a panel that was usually reserved for something like a season renewal. “Unfortunately, we don’t have a season three,” she said.

Thankfully, before Twitter officially busted out the pitchforks, season three was announced just a few weeks later.

2. The season premieres August 9.

Even though the previous seasons were released in June, Netflix has kept us waiting just that little bit longer this year.

We also got a handful of first-look photos — I'm personally eyeing up the pink mesh outfits for squad Halloween 2019.

3a. As mentioned, the GLOW ladies are heading to Las Vegas.

Vegas, baby! The trailer shows the ladies focussing on their Vegas live show, as well as hanging out along the iconic Vegas strip — which at the time included everything from Circus Circus to Bally’s and Caesars Palace. (Yep, these institutions have been around for a LONG time.)

Hopefully, season three will answer some of our post-season two questions. When will Carmen get a break? Will Sam try to pursue Ruth? Will Rhonda and Bash stay married? Netflix is being a little vague on the details so far:

3b. The show will have to get creative with its set.

The main location this season, the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino, isn't actually a real place. However, it is based on the Las Vegas Riviera Casino, where the IRL GLOW women lived and filmed for two years. It was also apparently famous for organized crime, so there's that. Even though you can still catch references to the Riviera in movies like The Hangover and Austin Powers, it was unfortunately demolished in 2016.

Per Mensch at the 2018 GLOW panel, “We have a lot of dreams for how we’re going to shoot the show. We’re not going to give away exactly what our intentions are… [but] Las Vegas has changed a lot since 1986, so unfortunately a lot of locations we’d like to shoot in are not there anymore.”

4. The cast is back — plus one particular new face.

It looks like all of the main cast is returning, so we'll still have lots more action from Ruth, Debbie and more. The big new name on the series is Geena Davis, who you should recognize as Thelma from Thelma and Louise. She'll be playing Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, a former showgirl turn entertainment director of the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino.

This post will be updated as more season three news is announced.
