Excellent news, Euphoria fans! Zendaya just dropped *another* official trailer AND release date for Euphoria season two and it's all very exciting.

The Emmy Award-winner has been slowly teasing us all over the last few months, starting with an interview with InStyle way back in August 2020 when she admitted: "I do miss Rue. She's like my little sister in a lot of ways. And going back to that character is a home base for me. There is a beautiful second season that has been written, but in order to do it the way we want to do it, we need to wait until it's safer."

The second season of the show began filming in early March 2020, but was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, although we were treated to two bridge episodes that thankfully filled the gaping Euphoria-shaped hole in our lives in the meantime.

Here's everything else we know about Euphoria season 2

Is there a trailer for Euphoria season 2?

Yes, yes, and yes again. Following two teaser trailers, which dropped in November and mid-December respectively, we now have a whole full-length official trailer for Euphoria season 2. How exciting!

In the new trailer, we see more of what's to come for Rue and Jules' relationship, as well as lots of upset for the rest of the Euphoria characters. The trailer then ends on a very dramatic note as we see someone in a car holding a gun, and we already have SO many questions. See the full thing for yourself here...

Zendaya also shared the new trailer on Instagram, writing in the caption, "I know it’s been a long time, but we’ll see you January 9th". Eek. Can't wait.

The actress previously dropped the first teaser trailer for the second season on Insta back in November - and it kicked off the drama nicely. In the clip, we saw the return of all our season one faves, as well as some new faces. While the teaser didn't give too much away about what to expect from season two, one thing we know for sure is that it'll be packed with non-stop teenage dramz. We love to see it.

A second teaser was later released in mid December 2021, which shows Rue admitting to not wanting to stay clean, and touching on how loss is a bigger emotion than love. Already so deep.

When will Euphoria season 2 be on TV?

It's time to thank the TV gods because not only did Zendaya drop the trailer for the much-anticipated second season, she simultaneously revealed we haven't got long to wait until it's finally released. Drum roll please... the hit show will return on 9 January. How. Bloody. Exciting!?

If it follows the same pattern as the first series, it will air in the US first before coming to the UK. You'll be able to watch it on Sky Atlantic and NOW.

Are there any other Euphoria season 2 teasers?

There sure are! Zendaya shared some photos from set on 4 May 2021, and fans were so excited to see the cast back at it. "Missed this kid," the actress wrote with a photo of Angus Cloud, who plays Fez on the show.

"And these kids," she added, with a photo of a lighting technician and another cast member. EEK.

When was Euphoria season 2 confirmed?

Euphoria season one aired in June 2019 and HBO renewed the drama in July 2019 because it's that good. "Literally just got the call. Can't say thank you enough for the support we've seen, wow," Zendaya tweeted at the time.

What will Euphoria season 2 be about?

After that season one cliffhanger, Storm Reid - who plays Rue's younger sister - teased: "Our whole show is for your own interpretation, and I did see the things where people ask me if she was deceased or not, or if she had relapsed in the last episode."

She added to Entertainment Weekly: "I feel like again, it's for your own interpretation, and the questions that you may have specifically about the eighth episode will be answered in the first couple of episodes of season two."

Who will star in Euphoria season 2?

We know Zendaya and Angus will definitely be part of the season two cast and you can also expect to see Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard, reprise her role. Sydney confirmed her return - as well as that of Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow and Hunter Schafer - at the Golden Globe Awards at the start of the year. We're also hoping Jacob Elordi will be back as Nate Jacobs.

What has Zendaya said about Euphoria?

Opening up about the role to Elle magazine, the actor said: "I think Euphoria taught me a lot about myself. It made me more confident in my own abilities, because I doubted myself a lot."

She continued: "I was looking for something to prove I can do it. Euphoria served as that, in the healthiest way. I never want to plateau as an actress – I always want to be able to explore and push myself. [Being an actress] brings me to places and makes me do things I’d probably never do because I’m such an introverted person.

"Even though Euphoria coming out was amazing and exciting, it was also extremely stressful. It gave me a lot of anxiety every week," she said. "That’s something I deal with; I have anxiety. I already know after this interview is over, I’m going to spiral about it for weeks."
