It's official! Season five of Netflix's hit series Cobra Kai is otw. Last season's cliffhangers — like Miguel traveling to Mexico City to search for his dad and Silver's conniving plot to get Kreese arrested — left viewers on the edges of their seats wanting more. Luckily, fans of the series don't have to wait too much longer. In May, Netflix gave an update on our favorite karate kids and confirmed that the next chapter is coming this September. From plot breakdowns to trailers, read ahead for everything we know so far about Cobra Kai season 5.

When will Cobra Kai season 5 be released?

Earlier this year, Netflix confirmed that season five will be released on September 9. In a video announcement, viewers got a brief sneak peek into what they can expect in the upcoming season.

Is there a trailer?

Yes! On August 16, a few weeks before the season premiere, Netflix dropped the official trailer for Cobra Kai season 5. Tensions are mounting in the San Fernando Valley, as Terry Silver villainously plans to franchise his violent form of karate throughout the Los Angeles suburbs. Former nemeses Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence team up with Chozen Toguchi to take down Silver, as Kreese remains in prison. Although Mike Barnes is confirmed to appear in the upcoming season, he’s nowhere to be found in this new clip. Check out more of the intense events of the upcoming season in the official trailer below.

How about photos?

Also yes! On August 9, Netflix released a bunch of new photos from the upcoming season and OMG Mike Barnes is back. Sean Kanan reprises his role as the cruel villain from 1989’s The Karate Kid Part III, as confirmed by one of the newly released stills. Mike is dubbed the “bad boy of karate” in the third installment of the Karate Kid franchise, and is recruited by Terry Silver to fight and defeat Daniel LaRusso in the All Valley Karate Tournament. Now that Terry is back, as established in season 4 of Cobra Kai, it seems likely that he’ll team back up with Mike to carry out their menacing desires.

“As Terry Silver calls upon some old friends to put the Valley in a stranglehold, Daniel and Johnny are going to need all the help they can get to stop Cobra Kai in its tracks,” co-creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg told Netflix’s Tudum. Check out new photos from the upcoming season below.
