Unfortunately, NBC hasn’t released an official date, but it’s expected to premiere sometime in fall 2020. Law & Order: Organized Crime will air on Thursdays at 10 p.m. directly after SVU, so we highly recommend you extend your DVR recording.

Season one of Law & Order: Organized Crime will consist of 13 action-packed episodes. It’s much shorter than SVU, which typically has more than 20 episodes per season. But hey, we’ll take what we can get.

Organized Crime will focus on Elliot Stabler as he returns to the NYPD as the head of the organized crime division. This might surprise some Law & Order fans, since Stabler retired from the police force in season 13. Nevertheless, the spin-off will follow the character as he tries to navigate the department’s ever-changing protocol.

According to NBC’s official statement, “The city and police department have changed dramatically in the decade he’s been away, and he must adapt to a criminal justice system in the midst of its own moment of reckoning.
