If you’re already experiencing Bridgerton withdrawal, you should know that more is coming. Not only is Netflix preparing to release season 3, but it’s also developing an all-new spin-off series, titled Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

1. What is Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story about?

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a spin-off show that’s inspired by the popular series Bridgerton. Instead of focusing on the Bridgerton siblings, the new project dives into the life of Queen Charlotte and offers a rare glimpse of her origin story. In particular, it focuses on her marriage to King George and how the Ton came to be.

Netflix announced the spin-off series last year on its official Twitter account, writing, “All Hail The Queen! Thrilled to announce we’re expanding the Bridgerton universe with a limited series that will tell Queen Charlotte’s origin story—the series will also feature young Violet Bridgerton and young Lady Danbury.”

2. Has it started production?

Luckily, the answer is yes. Netflix previously released a first-look photo of Lady Danbury (played by Arsema Thomas). “This is the year you find friends who fix your crown. Introducing @arsemathomas as Young Lady Danbury in #QueenCharlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” the caption read. “Coming to @netflix in 2023.” Netflix also debuted a glimpse of Corey Mylchreest’s character, King George (see above).

3. Who stars in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story?

The new show features several familiar faces, like Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Agatha Danbury) and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton). Newcomers include India Amarteifio (Young Queen Charlotte), Corey Mylchreest (Young King George), Michelle Fairley (Princess Augusta) and Arsema Thomas (Young Agatha Danbury).

4. Is there a trailer?

Netflix hasn’t dropped a full-length trailer, but it did release a teaser clip. The scene features young Queen Charlotte asking for help from young King George, who shuts her down. “I have absolutely no intention of helping you,” he says.

5. Does it have a premiere date?

Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t released an official premiere date for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. However, we’ll be on the lookout for any news from Lady Whistledown.
