After two seasons of Euphoria , it might be safe to say that Rue and the rest of the students of East Highland High School need more than cosmic energy healing for the tumultuous recent year. HBO/Giphy/BuzzFeed / Via giphy.com
But healing has to begin somewhere, so I’ve rounded up specific crystals each student should carry around to help get through the rest of the year.
Crystals have been on this Earth longer than we have. Naturally forming under pressure over millions of years, they are a valuable tool to help tap into our own inner magic and intuition. Giphy / Via giphy.com
According to The Power of Crystal Healing by Emma Lucy Knowles, the healing stones were relied upon for decades. Egyptians used hematite crystals, turning it into mirrors, and the Greeks would rub soldiers’ bodies with the same crystal before battle. Romans would use healing stones, believing they would enhance their health, adding them to their crowns, tiaras, goblets, and jewels. Even practitioners of Chinese medicine still use rose quartz on the tips of acupuncture needles for their healing properties.
While there is no right or wrong way to tap into the ~magic~ of crystals, they work differently for everyone and should not be a replacement for any medical treatment you may be receiving. HBO / Giphy / Via giphy.com
Also, Euphoria ~spoilers~ ahead, you've been warned! Let's get into it: 1. Rue Bennett + Ruby Rue deals with the death of her father by embracing a path of destruction and escapism — in her case, with substance abuse. In Season 2, we saw her relapse all the way to rock bottom, taking down everyone — loved ones, family, and friends alike — in her path.
Rue might benefit from starting off with a ruby crystal. Rubies are considered to be good stimulants of self-awareness and clarity, therefore are usually chosen to promote the process of addiction recovery. It is believed by some that rubies can also stimulate organs such as the kidneys and promote a positive and courageous mental state — ideal for body cleansing and accepting the transition of her family dynamic since her father passed away.

Fully diving into her love of theater, she’s in her element when putting on the school play, Our Life , that will go down in East Highland High history. In the play, Lexi airs out everyone's shit and causes a full-on brawl midway through. We don’t know what to expect for our girl, especially with the fate of her potential love interest, Fez, up in the air, but we do know she’s going to need guidance by the way of citrine crystals.
Citrine, the "happy" crystal, is ideal for Lexi to navigate life after her school play, Our Life. This gem is known to boost confidence, joy, and creativity, while overcoming fears and phobias, something she may need defense against after upsetting a couple of rage-filled classmates with her play — looking at you, Cassie and Nate. Citrine also encourages self-expression and lessens the blows of criticisms with its tendency to help one develop positive attitudes toward the future with calmness and wisdom.
HBO/Anna Usova/iStock / Getty Images 3. Fez + Aquamarine Technically no longer enrolled in school, Fez is riddled with responsibility — running his grandmother's drug-dealing business, eventually being her caretaker, and raising his brother in all but blood, Ashtray. Fez’s life has been laid before him, and just as he began to put energy into something for himself (hint hint: Lexi), his life was flipped upside down. Now dealing with the aftermath of the Season 2 finale's shootout and the death of Ash, he should carry around an aquamarine stone.
Aquamarine, like other crystals, has many known properties, one being the stone of courage. In ancient times, it was believed to counteract the forces of darkness. The stone assists in promoting calmness and soothing an overactive mind, while also allowing space for clarity during confusing times. With everything Fez is facing, he's going to need all the guidance he can get to navigate a life without Ash, plus whatever is to come of his family's drug-dealing business and grandma's care. It's worth noting that aquamarine's healing properties include but aren't limited to strengthening the stomach — exactly where Fez was shot at the end of Season 2.
HBO / Krimkate / Getty Images/iStockphoto 4. Cassie Howard + Red Jasper Known for falling in love with every guy she's ever dated, probably due to dealing with the abandonment of her father, Cassie is known as a sweet, sort-of-people-pleasing mess. Correction, hot mess . Sleeping — then falling in love with — her best friend's ex, having a full-blown meltdown, and intentionally embarrassing herself in front of the entire school during her sister Lexi's play. Her own mother even stated, "she needs a fucking exorcism." Quick, someone get Cassie a red jasper stone.
Red jasper is noted to align your physical, emotional, and mental states while absorbing negative energies. It's also a cleansing stone, aligning the chakras and aura for that inner yin-yang balance that Cassie desperately needs. It also encourages honesty with oneself, something Cassie really needs to do (check yourself girl, you've already wrecked yourself), and it promotes courage to grip problems assertively.
HBO / istock / Getty Images 5. Maddy Perez + Peridot Not only was she processing her breakup from a toxic relationship with Nate, now she has to also heal from the betrayal of her best friend, Cassie, who's hooking up with Nate. While Maddy is known as confident and sexually empowered, Nate usually brings out the worst in her. She can benefit from starting off with a peridot gem.
Peridot is perfect for Maddy because it is known for releasing negative patterns and old vibrations, making way for the new. It is a powerful cleanser — opening, purifying, and activating the heart and solar plexus chakra. It's exactly what she needs to let go of old baggage (*cough* Nate), burdens, guilt, and the past. Peridot also helps in moving forward with your destiny and understanding your purpose.
HBO/Walter Geiersperger / Getty Images 6. Nate Jacobs + Howlite Nate is literally what villains are made of. He has unresolved daddy trauma, which reveals itself through anger, rage, manipulation, and violence against himself and those around him. Honestly, he should go straight to therapy, and on the way into his first session, he should pick up a howlite crystal, known as the calming stone.
Howlite is best for those struggling with anger and resentment, because it releases those feelings and empowers you to vibe on peace instead. Noted to absorb anger either from yourself or from others toward you, something Nate desperately needs, it helps to overcome selfishness and critical tendencies while strengthening positive character traits.
HBO /VvoeVale/ iStock / Getty Images 7. Jules Vaughn + Lapis Lazuli Sweet yet impulsive Jules. It might also be fair to say she's oblivious (how did she not realize Rue was using again?!). Like some of her classmates, she has her own internal struggles stemming from her family, childhood, and personal issues. She is also shown to be kind and creative. I think she could benefit from carrying around lapis lazuli.
Lapis lazuli is known to help one confront truth and accept its teachings. This truth-teller stone encourages self-awareness and self-expression without compromising. It's believed to release anger, as well as help you communicate your feelings and thoughts while balancing all of your levels. Lapis lazuli also bonds romantic relationships by removing any cruelty or martyrdom and enhancing love and friendship, something Jules can grow from.
HBO/ istock / Getty Images 8. Elliot + Smoky Quartz We don't know much about this mysterious newcomer, except he partakes in substance abuse, will support your drug use, is down to steal ya girl — oh, and that he can really sing and play the heck out of a guitar. He did inadvertently save Rue's life for the foreseeable future, so I'll give him that too.
I think Elliot can benefit from smoky quartz. This crystal is known for letting go of things troubling you and things that no longer serve you. Perhaps his own drug use? An antidote to stress and depression, it is also known to promote spiritual grounding and gently neutralize negative vibes, instead bringing in positive ones. It's said to cleanse the base chakra, allowing space for passion to flow naturally.
HBO/Minakryn Ruslan/iStock / Getty Images 9. Kat Hernandez + Ametrine Initially introduced as self-conscious and shy, Kat explored her own escapism through the internet, eventually creating an alter ego, KittenKween, where she filmed herself as a dominatrix for capital over the internet. In Season 2, she's retired from online body work, but she's faced with a full-blown mental breakdown and not knowing what she wants or who she is. She did, however, put an end to her romantic relationship with Ethan in the most horrible way — lying about having a terminal brain disorder and gaslighting her way out of it. Girl, pick up ametrine stat.
Ametrine is the baby of amethyst and citrine, making it a powerful tool for clarity and balance that can potentially provide Kat with help to wade through the identity crises and self-esteem issues she's dealing with. This stone harmonizes perception and action, removing any negative emotional programming and expectations. It is known to promote optimism and well-being while minimizing disturbances from stressful external influences.
HBO/ KrimKate/iStock / Getty Images 10. Ethan + Amethyst Our sweet and woke king. Ethan has been showing up and showing out! Probably the most put-together of this East Highland group, he seems to not be afraid to go for what he wants. In Season 1, that was initiating a romantic relationship with Kat, and in Season 2, it's landing the lead in Lexi's school play. After Kat made him skip his final play rehearsal to gaslight him through a breakup, he takes that as fuel to deliver a killer performance that night. He seems sure of himself and can benefit from carrying amethyst .
Amethyst is a protective stone, warding off bad vibes externally and internally. It balances your highs and lows, centering the energy in the body, mind, and soul. Ethan can benefit from protected balance, especially if he pursues theater as a career. This stone also dispels anger, fear, anxiety and sadness, allowing one to come to terms with loss — bye, Kat!
HBO/iStock / Getty Images 11. Bobbi + Blue Kyanite Soft-spoken yet witty, Bobbi is Lexi's stage manager for the school play, Our Life . We don't know much about her, except we want more of her feminine sass. Also worth noting is her being a support system of value, specifically for Lexi. For her to make it through the year, she should hold onto a blue kyanite .
Blue kyanite promotes communication and self expression — no surprise, since it connects to the throat chakra. If Bobbi is going to keep delivering priceless one-liners, this is the stone to keep around. Plus, it'll help to gain universal clarity and woke vibes to peacefully vocalize them.
HBO/ iStock / Getty Images I don't know what's coming for all of these babes in Season 3, but for the love of Sam Levinson, give them a break, give them alignment, give them clarity. HBO
