If you had asked what the most in-demand accessory of 2020 would be mere months ago, cloth face masks probably wouldn’t have been anyone’s answer. Yet, fashion brands have acted quickly to produce the protective item the CDC now recommends everyone wear in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus, and new designs are selling out faster than a vintage Dior saddle bag on sale.
Everlane is the latest clothing retailer to add cloth face masks to its online inventory. The Meghan Markle-approved brand is now utilizing its t-shirt factory in downtown Los Angeles to produce 100 percent cotton masks. They’re made from a double-layer knit fabric the brand already had available at the factory, and the ear loops have a bit of stretch for comfort.
You can order a pack of three reusable, machine-washable masks for $28. For every three-pack Everlane produces, it’s donating one mask to the hunger-relief organization Feeding America.
To keep up with high demands and prevent bulk-buying, Everlane has put a five-pack limit on the number of products customers can purchase. Head to Everlane to stock up on the new essential now. But you’ll have to hurry. After being available for less than 24 hours, one of the three colorways sold out and is already racking up a waitlist.
