It’s been two days since Eva Longoria welcomed her first child, and she already can’t imagine him being taken from her arms.

The Desperate Housewives actress advocated for reuniting immigrant parents and their children who had been separated from them at the border, per a just-reversed policy of President Trump. (Even though Trump signed an executive order to end the practice on Wednesday, at least 2,300 children were already in government custody. It’s not clear how long they will remain there.)

Longoria, 43, pleaded with her followers to support two organizations working on behalf of the children and families: the Texas-based Refugee & Immigrant Center for Education & Legal Services and the American Civil Liberties Union.

She reminded us of how close the issue is to her heart by including the first photo of her son, Santiago Enrique Bastón, which Hola! released on Wednesday. Santiago’s dad is former Televisa exec José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón, 50.

Longoria’s been politically active for years, but even some celebs who haven’t been in the past are now speaking out about the family-separation policy.
