Durango Farm Management cut workers’ pay from $7 to $6.50 per container amid COVID-19. Each container of blueberries weighs approximately 12 pounds, which works out to just $0.54 per pound of blueberries picked.
The pay cut was ‘the straw that broke the camel’s back,' one United Farm Workers representative said.
