In what could potentially be the greatest TV crossover of all time, eagle-eyed Sex Education fans have spotted Game Of Thrones' Joffrey Baratheon, aka Jack Gleeson, in the most recent series and we can't believe we didn't spot him sooner.

Gleeson, who rose to fame as Joffrey Baratheon in seasons one to four of HBO's Game of Thrones, stars in two episodes of Sex Education season four as Maeve's brother Sean's friend Dodgy Mo.

He features in episode six when Otis and Eric go round to his house to find Sean ahead of Erin's funeral and he gives the pair the flowers that were delivered for the funeral.

He is later seen in episode seven when Maeve goes round to Mo's house to find Sean so they can go and scatter their mother's ashes. Sean is nowhere to be found but Maeve chills with Mo for a bit and they play a video game together.

Sex Education fans were stunned to see Jack Gleeson feature in the series, with one person commenting on Twitter/X: "Of all the faces I expected to see in Sex Education season 4, Joffrey Baratheon was not one of them..." and another said: "Joffrey Baratheon being in s4 of Sex Education was not on my bingo card for this year."

A lot of fans' shock stems not only from Gleeson's very different appearance (um where is the signature blonde hair?) but because Gleeson had mainly retired from acting following his time on Game Of Thrones.

During a speech at University College Dublin, Gleeson explained his decision to step away from acting to the students, saying: "It really came down to just not deriving as much enjoyment as I did from acting as I used to.

"I started acting when I was eight and really, really loved it, you know... For some reason, I don’t know, it became a bit kind of mechanical and less kind of passionate when I started Game of Thrones."

Gleeson's role in Sex Education is his second TV role since Game Of Thrones, having previously appeared in Sara Pascoe's Out of Her Mind in 2020.

And thankfully Dodgy Mo isn't the last we'll see of Gleeson, as he's also set to appear in the BBC's adaptation of the Famous Five novels and the thriller film The Land of Saints and Sinners.

Is 2023 the Jack Gleeson renaissance?
