Enrique Iglesias's Mom Talks Surprise Pregnancy
Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova surprised everyone with the birth of their twins, but according to Iglesias' mother, keeping a low profile is what Kournikova prefers.
In an interview with the Spanish weekly magazine Hola!, Isabel Preysler denied that Kournikova has been intentionally discreet about the fact that she was expecting. "Anna has not had to hide herself," Preysler told the magazine. "She leads a very simple life and is a homebody."
Preysler was married to Iglesias's father, Julio Iglesias, for seven years and they have three children together, including Enrique, and his siblings Chabeli Iglesias and Julio Iglesias, Jr.
The singer's mother was also happy to share that Kournikova's pregnancy was normal and healthy. "[Anna] did not have to go on bed rest at any given moment," she said, adding that her son could not be more elated with the new additions to their family. "Enrique is extraordinarily happy in these moments."
Twins Nicholas and Lucy are the first children for Iglesias and Kournikova, who have been dating for over 16 years. The couple first met on the set of Iglesias's "Escape" music video, and have notoriously flown under the radar throughout their relationship, often fighting breakup rumors because of it.
However, when E! Online asked whether Iglesias plans to propose to Kournikova one day, he said, "I don't believe you need a piece of paper to show you love someone. Who knows what the future holds...or the past...haha."
