Emma Watson has made a rare public appearance to sit front row at Paris Fashion Week.

The actress, 32, looked stylish in a monochrome ensemble for the Schiaparelli Haute Couture fashion show.

She wore a white shirt – featuring a statement collar – as well as a black jacket with giant lapels.

Perhaps most surprising of all were her slim-fit grey jeans, which appeared to be ripped at one knee.

Watson kept her hair and make-up glossy but simple, and also accessorised with a blue stone ring.

The star watched the Italian brand's latest collection alongside her friend, the journalist Derek Blasberg.

They posed for photographs with singer Rina Sawayama and Hunter Schafer, who is a model and activist.

Watson is well-known for her fashion-forward outfits – not least her chic little black dress and thigh-high boots combo for a pre-BAFTA party earlier this year.

Additionally, Watson is a dedicated fan of eco-friendly fashion, and wore a Calvin Klein dress made entirely from plastic bottles to the Met Gala back in 2016.

Speaking previously to Teen Vogue, she said: “I love fashion. I think it's so important, because it's how you show yourself to the world."

Despite being one of the most famous women in the world – thanks to her appearance in the Harry Potter franchise – the star is able to keep a relatively low profile.

She is also selective with her acting roles, and most recently appeared in Little Women in 2019 – following films including Beauty and the Beast, The Bling Ring and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Watson has also spoken out in support of trans rights, and she spoke to British Vogue about the importance of people becoming educated on the subject.

She said: “I understand fearing what you don’t know, but go and learn. Making people feel not included is…is just such a painful, awful thing to do."
