How Emma Stone Is Feeling as a First-Time Mom

Emma Stone gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, on March 13. She and Dave McCary, whom she reportedly secretly married last year, are both first-time parents, and a source told E!, they are loving life as a family of three.

"Being pregnant and experiencing motherhood has been an incredible experience that she has loved," the source said. "She couldn't wait to meet the baby and it has been everything and more. They are thoroughly enjoying down time at home and just being with the baby. They are adjusting well to being a family of three." The source adds that Stone "wanted to be a mom for a long time and she is a natural."

And Dad seems to be loving this new family life, too: "Dave is a great guy and she feels so lucky that she met him and that they get to do this together," the source continues. "He's a great dad, very hands on and helping every step of the way."

Stone and McCary announced their engagement via Instagram in December 2019, though they'd been sparking rumors long before that.

"My perspective about kids has changed as I've gotten older," Stone told ELLE in 2018. "I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, I'm never getting married, I'm never having kids. And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids." She went on, reflecting on how life changed for her once she approached 30 (she turned 32 in November 2020):

"It's weird how much turning 30 crystallizes your life. Instead of just living the dreams that I had in my youth and getting to do the job that I love to do and making friends and going through all of that, it's like, Now what do I actively want as an adult?"
