Emma Roberts Shared a Photo of Her Adorable Son’s Face for the First Time
It was a day of firsts. Emma Roberts marked her first Mother’s Day as a mother herself by giving followers their first proper look at her baby son, Rhodes. The Scream Queens star posted a picture of the two of them touching noses, captioned simply, “Happy Mother’s Day 🌼.” It’s the first photo we’ve seen of her little one’s face.
Roberts shares Rhodes with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund; the two have been together since 2019 and welcomed Rhodes in December 2020. She was previously dating American Horror Story’s Evan Peters.
Likes and comments poured in from Emma Roberts’s friends and followers, including costar Billie Lourd, who revealed the baby boy’s nickname: “Rodeo!” Cute!
Lourd too marked her first Mother’s Day since welcoming her first child, a son named Kingston. To commemorate the moment, she posted a beautiful black-and-white pregnancy portrait and an old snap of her mom, Carrie Fisher, pregnant with her. “I’ve dreamed of having a baby since I was a baby myself. And the reality of becoming a Mom is infinitely dreamier than any dream I could have ever had. But Mother’s Day still isn’t solely the classic hallmark ‘happy’—but unlike this picture, Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be black and white. It can be all things—happy Mother’s Day but also sad / grief-y (petition to make that a real word!) / angry / frustrated / lonely / ET fuckin C Mother’s Day! Sending my love to everyone out there who needs it. ❤️,” wrote Lourd.
In November, Roberts opened up about the particular struggle she faced regarding pregnancy as someone recently diagnosed with endometriosis. She revealed that at her doctor’s suggestion (a female doctor–which she says made a huge difference), she froze her eggs, but that conceiving Rhodes happened spontaneously “the moment that I stopped thinking about it.”
