At the 2018 Critics Choice Awards Thursday night, Emma Roberts stepped out in a strapless white silk gown -- but it wasn't the designer's gown that had people talking: It was her edgy new do.
The actress was at the annual awards show to support her boyfriend Evan Peters and his role on "American Horror Story: Cult" when she debuted her new short fringe on the red carpet. It was a look that the public had a difficult time getting on board with.
In the past, the 26-year-old actress hasn't been afraid to shake up her look, going brunette, red and blonde -- but fans will be relieved to know she was actually wearing faux bangs this time around.
"She's been long, short, red, brunette, blonde. She’s been itching to try something different, so this was the perfect way to do so without a full commitment,” explained the star's hairstylist Nikki Lee to People.
Had Emma really opted for the scissors, she would have been the second Emma to go head first for baby bangs. Just last week, Emma Watson debuted the same hairdo at the 2018 Golden Globes.
