Emma Corrin is now a Golden Globe nominee.

The actress received her first nod from the Hollywood Foreign Press this morning when she was named in the best actress category for her role as Princess Diana in The Crown. She finds herself in the race against one of her costars, Olivia Colman, nominated for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II, as well as Jodie Comer of Killing Eve, Laura Linney of Ozark, and Sarah Paulson of Ratched. The Crown also leads in TV nominations with six nods. The winners will be announced at the live ceremony on February 28.

Corrin, one of 2020's biggest breakout stars, shared a video to her Instagram Story of her reaction to her nomination. In the footage, she sits up with her hands to her face in anticipation, and then jumps up and screams when her name is announced. It's absolute joy in its purest form.

"WELL DONE EVERYONE THIS IS MADNESS!! THANK YOU!" she wrote on the clip.

She also congratulated costar Josh O'Connor, who was nominated for best actor in a drama series for his role as Prince Charles. Corrin celebrated with a throwback to their first read-through of the script.

"From looking like naughty kids in detention at the first read through to THIS MOMENT thank you for always being by my side and being ridiculous @joshographee !! SO PROUD OF YOU," she wrote above the photo.

She shouted out the Golden Globes in an Instagram post too.

"Thank you so much @goldenglobes!" Corrin wrote. "A real honour to be named amongst a group of such talented and inspirational women! Working on The Crown was the most magical experience in no small part thanks to the incredible cast and crew that supported and help guide me through THANK YOUU ❤️."

It's been a whirlwind of a year for Corrin, whose world "exploded" after she was announced to be playing one of the most famous women in history on one of Netflix's biggest shows. While speaking to BAZAAR.com before the premiere of Season 4, the actress even noted some similarities between her sudden rise to fame and Diana's, saying, "There's a parallel there with this stuff, with the trajectory that she experienced in terms of being catapulted into fame. And it's very strange."

She added, "I'm always wary of a lot of hype because I'm worried of not living up to it." After today's Golden Globe nominations, it looks like she lived up to it.
