From Town & Country

Rejoice, fans of fashionable, women-led dramedies: the upcoming Emily in Paris promises to fill the Sex and the City-shaped hole in your viewing schedule. Here, everything we know about the show so far.

The first trailer and preview images have arrived.

Finally, viewers are getting a real taste of Emily in Paris. The short trailer (above) introduces its charming protagonist, and teases a bit of a culture clash between her and her new French colleagues. It and promises plenty of gorgeous clothes.

The photos (below) offer a similar look at the sumptuously styled series.

It comes from Darren Star, the mind behind Sex and the City.

While SATC remains Star's biggest claim to fame, he's created several more addicting hits, including Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, and Younger.

Star created, wrote, and executive produced Emily in Paris, which follows Midwestern expat Emily (Lily Collins) as she moves to Paris to work at a French marketing company. She's "not fully embraced by some of the French—she’s an American girl who comes to France and doesn’t speak any French, she has opinions about how to do things, but finds out ‘the American way is the best’ doesn’t always hold true and she makes a lot of faux pas," Star told Variety.

The show features an international cast.

French actors Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Camille Razat, and Bruno Gouery will appear as series regulars.

In addition, Kate Walsh (Grey's Anatomy, The Umbrella Academy) will play Emily's mentor, who continues to live in Chicago. Ashley Park, William Abadie, and Arnaud Viard round out the cast.

It'll debut on Netflix this fall.

When the show was first announced, it was destined to air on the ViacomCBS-owned Paramount Network—but it's since moved to Netflix. The streaming service is set to debut Emily in Paris on October 2.
