Warning: Spoilers ahead.
If there's one standout thing Daenerys Targaryen is known for on Game of Thrones — aside from, you know, being the Mother of Dragons and all — it's her hair. Since the show's debut in 2011, Daenerys has sported icy-white strands down to her waist, which she's worn in a variety of intricate braided styles meant to symbolize what's going on in the show, as well as foreshadow the future. Now, though, with the final episode a mere week away, fans are being thrown for a loop because it seems that Daenerys might somehow lose her signature feature.
It's true, folks. On Monday afternoon, Emilia Clarke herself posted a photo in which she's clearly wearing a wig cap and clutching a bottle of champagne with the caption, "This is what it took not only to shoot ep5...but to watch it too! #🤯 @gameofthrones @hbo #soshockingitblewmywigoff #😳 #🤢." Now, this could mean any number of things. For instance, it could simply be a "before" shot of her prior to putting her famous wig on — or it could mean Dany won't make it to the Iron Throne after all.
Naturally, legions of fans took to the comment section to express their thoughts and opinions. "Arya will be Queen. Not Daenerys 😎," writes one user, while another says, "Pass the bottle tho 😫." Is it possible that Arya could shave Dany's head as a form of atonement? Absolutely. But we'll just have to wait until Sunday to find out. In the meantime, check out what Redditors have to say about the situation and what this could mean for the final episode.
