Emilia Clarke Just Channeled Katie Holmes in Her Latest Orange & Black Ensemble
Are orange and black the new, well, black? According to Emilia Clarke and Katie Holmes, yes.
It all started when Holmes, 40, stepped out in New York wearing an orange blazer with black accessories earlier this month. Then, just a week later, she attended the American Ballet Theater’s Fall Gala with her mother wearing two shades of orange and black accessories again. See?
Her Halloween-ready color combo took us by surprise, but apparently it caught the attention of Emilia Clarke.
The 33-year-old Game of Thrones alum was spotted returning to her hotel in London following a press day for her upcoming film Last Christmas wearing her own take on the orange-and-black trend. Oh, did we mention it was her birthday?
You might call her Petar Petrov suit her birthday suit.
Clarke selected the Petar Petrov Jeffery jacket and Hampton trousers from the fall 2019 collection for her big day. She coordinated her top with the blazer’s black buttons and wore a simple black cotton tank. She accessorized the oversize suit with gold hoop earrings and nude suede pointed-toe pumps.
Although her chic suit is no longer available, the Asos Design longline blazer ($63) is a pretty close dupe, as is Topshop’s Geeta blazer ($76) and Geeta crop wide leg pants ($55).
Orange and black have seemingly become all the rage this October, but we can’t help but wonder if it has staying power past Halloween. Guess we’ll have to wait and find out once November rolls around.
