WARNING: This Is Us spoilers ahead.
We might or might not have been following practically every step of This Is Us star Mandy Moore's kitchen renovation, thanks to her thoughtfully chronicled Instagram Stories, but alas, the renovation is over, and Mandy has a brand-new kitchen. Although we've yet to be invited over for dinner, we're not the only ones who are excited about it: Ellen DeGeneres is, too.
Of course, Ellen being Ellen, she's not content to just chat about the renovation with Moore. No, she had a little something to give her—and when it's Ellen gifting a celebrity a present, you know it's not going to be your normal present. (She did, after all, give her audience $1 million.)
"So you have a blender; you have a toaster; you have a mixer," DeGeneres said. "There’s something missing and I want to give you a housewarming gift so it’s gonna go on that shelf..."
Yeah, she got Mandy a Crock-Pot.
Perhaps a standard housewarming gift, but for Mandy, there's a little extra significance: In season two, episode 13 of This Is Us, a Crock-Pot features prominently in the death of the show's protagonist Jack. Namely, its switch was faulty, and it wound up starting a fire that (indirectly) killed him.
"I will remember to unplug this after I’m done using it," Moore told DeGeneres.
By the way, if you haven't been following along with the progression of said Crock-Pot's new home, the midcentury and marble of it all is beyond stunning.
Like, this is her pantry, with approximately 1,000 bottles of artfully displayed water.
(The gorgeous scheme even goes into the bathroom, and, I mean, stahhhp.)
Enough kitchen porn. Here's the clip from Ellen:
