Elle Fanning just channeled her character, Princess Aurora, at the Los Angeles premiere of Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
This week, the 21-year-old actress attended a special screening of the highly anticipated sequel at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles. Fanning wore an enchanting green gown by Gucci that was inspired by her beloved character.
Fanning accessorized the princess-style dress with sheer gloves. Gucci even adorned the actress’s gown, along with her gloves, with bejeweled drops of blood to replicate a well-known scene in Sleeping Beauty.
“In Sleeping Beauty, [Princess Aurora] pricks her finger, and there’s blood involved,” Fanning told Entertainment Tonight. “[Gucci] created this amazing design… and it’s just a work of art.”
Although it’s been five years since the original movie premiered, Fanning confirmed that she’s thrilled to reprise the character. “My mom went with me on the first movie, for the whole time, so for her it’s cool to see a second one,” she added. “And to see me older playing this character again.”
At the premiere, Fanning was joined by her co-star Angelina Jolie, who wore a stunning asymmetric dress by Versace. The 44-year-old actress brought along five of her children: Pax (15), Zahara (14), Shiloh (13) and twins Vivienne and Knox (11).
Shout-out to Fanning for proving that she and Princess Aurora are practically twins. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will hit theaters on October 18.
