Presenter Elizabeth Olsen eschewed her older sisters' fashion label The Row in favor of something a little more classic for her first time at the Academy Awards. She walked the 2023 Oscars red carpet on March 12 in a shimmering black Givenchy gown that delivered a master class in understated brilliance. She might not have been dressed by Mary-Kate and Ashley's label, but Olsen's look clearly reflected her chic siblings' pared-back and elegant sense of style.

Despite its simple, column silhouette and monochromatic black, Olsen's dress sparkled thanks to a number of small, beautifully constructed details. The halter, for instance, featured a beaded fringe at the back of the neck and a plunging cowl neckline in a sequined fabric that made the whole look shimmer.

While NSFW sheer gowns are still very much on trend for red carpets this year, Olsen instead opted for a sheer overlay skirt with a teeny-tiny train that revealed only the intricate floral pattern on her underskirt's hem. Strappy sandals, gold chandelier earrings, and a single cocktail ring were her sole accessories.

Olsen's glam also appeared inspired by Mary-Kate and Ashley's signature looks. The WandaVision actor wore her blonde hair in a middle-parted chignon at the back of her neck, and kept her makeup simple with natural eyes and a deep red lip.
