Ed Sheeran steals Lisa's heart on 'The Simpsons' in a 'La La Land' parody

Ed Sheeran appeared on The Simpsons in a parody of the almost-Oscar-winning film La La Land. Sheeran played Brendan, an 11-year-old smooth-singing jazz musician who steals Lisa’s heart. Though at first Lisa thought he was arrogant, once she heard him sing she was smitten.

Much to the chagrin of Homer, Lisa and Brendan played jazz together in the garage, though they disagreed as to whose fault it was that they were a little off. Lisa’s old flame, Nelson, wasn’t too happy with this relationship, and his pals tried bullying Brendan on the playground but he flipped the script on them. He broke out into song and made all the girls at Springfield Elementary, not just Lisa, swoon.

Unfortunately for Lisa, this relationship just wasn’t meant to be. Brendan lived 50 feet into West Springfield and would be transferred to a school “three buses and a long bike ride” away. Brendan couldn’t put Lisa through that, so they said goodbye.

“I guess this relationship is over until this town invests in mass transit,” Lisa said.
