Eagles put a new twist on their excellent baseball TD celebration

With all due respect to the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ hide-and-seek celebration or the Minnesota Vikings doing duck-duck-goose on the field, the Philadelphia Eagles have had the best touchdown celebration so far this season.

It was so good, they produced a sequel.

The first time the Eagles did it in Week 5, Torrey Smith went up to the plate and mimicked hitting a home run. It was clever and well choreographed. The Eagles ran that celebration back after Alshon Jeffery scored Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Apparently fed up with the showboating from Smith’s touchdown before, this time “pitcher” Zach Ertz wound up and plunked “batter” Jeffery in the back, which caused Jeffery to charge the mound on Ertz. Funny stuff.

Hey, when Mike Trout is your biggest celebrity superfan at the moment, you go with a baseball theme.

Everything is fun in Philadelphia, as the Eagles are looking like the best team in football. They also have the best touchdown celebration in the game, and hopefully they have plenty more spinoffs of it to come.
