Dylan Farrow slams Justin Timberlake on Twitter over Time's Up

When Justin Timberlake casually asked his followers about the phrase, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too,” he probably thought it was an innocent, carefree question to throw out into the Twittersphere. Little did the “Filthy” singer know the fire that was about to come his way, from Dylan Farrow.

It all started when Justin tweeted, “Can someone please explain the saying, ‘You just want your cake and to eat it too.’ What else am I about to do with cake??”

Farrow shot back, “The saying means, for example, you can’t support #TIMESUP and praise sexual predators at the same time. You can’t retain your credibility as an activist (i.e. – retain the cake) and, at the same time, praise a sexual predator (i.e. – eating the cake).”

Dylan, 32, is Woody Allen’s adopted daughter with Mia Farrow, and she has alleged for decades that the director sexually assaulted her in 1992, when she was 7. (Allen has denied the claims.) Dylan has been back in the headlines. Just last week, she gave her first on-camera interview to CBS This Morning, giving details of the alleged molestation.

“I loved my father. I respected him. He was my hero. And that doesn’t obviously take away from what he did,” she told Gayle King. “But it does make the betrayal and the hurt that much more intense.”

Timberlake recently worked with Allen on the film Wonder Wheel, and he has praised the Oscar-winning filmmaker even after the allegations resurfaced. The singer/actor came in for flak for wearing a Time’s Up pin to the Golden Globes but refusing to denounce Allen.

Greta Gerwig, Colin Firth, Mira Sorvino, and Timothée Chalamet are just some of the actors to star in Allen films who have come forward recently to condemn the director, saying that they would not work with him again.

Timberlake has yet to respond to Farrow’s tweet.
