Dylan Dreyer is enjoying the little things in life, like taking in the crisp fall weather with the newest member of her sweet family.

The Today show weather anchor and her husband, NBC News cameraman Brian Fichera, welcomed their son, Russell James, six weeks early on September 29. Affectionally known as Rusty, he spent about a week in the NICU at New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital before joining his older brothers — Calvin Bradley, 4, and Oliver George, 1 — at home. Now, the family of five (plus their dog, Bosco) are reaching heartwarming milestones together, including taking their first family photo and going on their first family walk.

On Monday, the 40-year-old meteorologist shared heartfelt pics of her family stopping mid-stroll to remember a special moment together at the park. “Baby arrived early, Fall arrived late,” she wrote on Instagram. “Loved being able to have our first family walk outside to enjoy the sunset before it got too chilly!”

Upon seeing the latest snaps of the Dreyer-Fichera crew, the Today show star’s fans rushed to the comments section to leave kind words for them. “You have such a lovely family, Dylan! It’s a precious time, and thank you for sharing it with us ❤️,” one person wrote. “You are glowing. So happy for you. Thank you for sharing your joy with us,” another added. “❤️ Gorgeous photo! Your boys are beautiful 💙💙💙,” a different fan said. “Cutest family ❤️,” a follower commented.

A few days before, on Saturday, Dylan also shared an update about Rusty with Weekend Today coanchors Kristen Welker and Hallie Jackson while promoting her new children’s picture book, Misty the Cloud: A Very Stormy Day.

"Rusty's doing good ... He kind of sleeps all day. He’s awake a little bit more at night," Dylan said. "He's doing awesome. To have spent a week in the NICU and to now be home and thriving? We are so, so blessed. I can’t believe I was going to wait till November to meet him and he’s already here.”

The mother of three admitted that having so much change this year caught her off guard. But even still, she wouldn’t trade it for the world.

“I never expected to be promoting the book and the baby kind of at the same time,” she said. “He wasn’t due till November, the book was due in September and that got delayed, so I’m just embracing the chaos of this week right now and hope to get some sleep next week.”
