  • Simone Johnson, daughter of Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia, announced that she signed her first wrestling contract.

  • Simone is on the path to become the first fourth-generation Superstar in WWE history, after The Rock, her grandfather Rocky Johnson, and great grandfather Peter Maivia.

  • Dwayne shared a heartfelt post congratulating his daughter on her decision.

Dwayne Johnson's oldest daughter Simone Johnson, 18, is following in her dad's footsteps. Today, she signed her first professional wrestling contract and announced that she's started training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

Simone's roots in wrestling run deep. The Rock is a 10-time world wrestling champion (and, NBD, was the highest paid actor in the country last year). After her father, grandfather Rocky Johnson, and great-grandfather Peter Maivia, she's now poised to become the first fourth-generation Superstar in WWE history. Peter and Rocky are both members of the WWE Fall of Fame.

"It means the world to me to know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle, but to carry on that legacy," Simone said in a statement.

She also tweeted that she was "the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & was determined to make this dream a reality. I’m beyond thankful for this opportunity & ready to get after it. Let’s do this."

Of course, Dwayne is feeling like the proudest dad in the world. The Rock shared a heartwarming Instagram post where he's bear-hugging his oldest daughter following her announcement to pursue professional wrestling.

"Dreams ain’t just for dreamers. Congrats to my #1 born, Simone Johnson on officially signing her wrestling contract with @wwe @wwenxt and on her way to becoming the first ever 4th generation WWE athlete," he wrote in the caption. "Carry our family name proudly, but your road will always be yours to create, earn & own. So proud. Live your dream. Let’s work."

Her mom Dany also shared a congratulatory Instagram post following her daughter's decision. She shared a video montage of various pictures of her and Simone over time, and wrote a heartfelt caption.

"It's been the blessing of my life to watch you grow @simoneGJohnson & while the legacy of the family may be your platform, your future will be uniquely yours to earn," she said. "Congrats my love ❤️on living your dream & welcome to @WWENXT @wwe!! #4thGenerationSuperstar"

Although Dwayne and Dany finalized their divorce in 2008, the two have remained good friends and continue to work closely together today. Dany is Dwayne's longtime manager, and she co-founded Seven Bucks Productions in 2012, which has produced several films starring The Rock, like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

In fact, Dwayne and Dany just announced their first-ever live wellness and entertainment event, Athleticon, which will take place on October 10 and 11. Featuring fitness stars like Julianne Hough, "Yoga Girl" Rachel Brathen, and Brian MacKenzie, the festival will include a number of wellness-inspired events such as mini sports competitions, fireside chats, and more.

"We are SO excited to unveil our first glimpse of our initial Athleticon programming! We've been working hard to ensure that #ATHLETICON has something for everyone as we focus on creating meaningful experiences in athletics, wellness and entertainment," Dany wrote in a caption alongside a video promo of the upcoming festival. "More great announcements to come!!! See you there!!"

Just all around good news for the Johnson-Garcia family. We can't wait to see Simone make history as the first fourth-generation WWE superstar!
