Dwayne Johnson just Tweeted endorsing 'his cousin' Boris - then deleted it

Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson spoke too soon this morning when, having been asked about the new Prime Minister Boris Johnson, he told Good Morning Britain:

“He's family, by the way; you don't know that, but now all of Britain knows ... he's my cousin....It's like looking in the mirror, every time I see Boris.”

The Rock then followed up the remark on his Twitter, feed, writing: “PM Boris Johnson is in fact my cousin (though we clearly look more like twins). Jokes aside, PM did say something in his speech I liked - “the people are our bosses”. 100% agree. The people/audience/consumer will always matter most. #ourboss”

It only took seconds, however, for the Hobbs & Shaw star's feed to go up in flames, with a backlash accusing him of joining a conversation he knew nothing about.

The Rock swiftly backtracked, deleting the tweet within 15 minutes and posting a new one: “Well according to the people, maybe we’re not related after all

Big mahalo to my people who I can always rely on to give me the real talk and swift perspective & education on the individual I did not know Tequila on me, Britain.”

The Tweet has now triggered a second flurry of criticism, from followers calling him a Snowflake.
