Dunkin’ Is Selling DIY Donut Kits That Come With a Variety of Frostings and Sprinkles
Dunkin’ has never failed to offer a variety of donut flavors, but how much fun would it be to create your own? Now eating donuts will be a whole activity for the family, because certain locations are selling DIY donut kits.
Norma Valkenaar, an employee at a California Dunkin’, asked if she could bring home donuts, frosting, and sprinkles for her nephews, and the idea was born. That’s when Dunkin’ franchisee, Matt Cobo, began carrying the kits in his two locations in Walnut Creek and Concord.
Each box is filled with plain donuts and a variety of frostings and sprinkles. One location has a four-donut option that includes strawberry frosting, chocolate frosting, and vanilla frosting, and two varieties of sprinkles for $7.99. It also has a nine-donut option with the same three frostings and three varieties of sprinkles for $15.99.
“This is our small way of trying to brighten someone’s day,” Cobo said in a Dunkin’ post. “The simple joy of getting to create your own donut can make kids light up, and if we can be a part of creating that moment, that makes us happy.”
According to Dunkin’, franchisees across the country have begun offering their own DIY donut kits, so check with your local shop to see if they’ve got them. This is your chance to get super creative with varieties you can’t get on a typical day. Half strawberry, half vanilla? Do it. Change up the sprinkles with every bite? Here’s your chance!
