Dunkaroos Are Back in Stores Right Now, So We Can Snack Like It’s the ‘90s

We knew that General Mills was making all of our dreams come true by bringing back Dunkaroos, but we truly can’t believe the day is here. While the brand confirmed that the cookie and frosting snack packs would be coming to 7-Eleven in late-May, people have already found them in stores!

While the convenience store will have to be your go-to to get the treat for the now, Dunkaroos will be hitting other convenience stores and grocery retailers nationwide in July. So they can become part of our daily snacking again. Anyone else feeling like it’s 1997 again?

If you weren’t one of the lucky people who snagged an early pack of Dunkaroos yesterday, you won’t have to wait too much longer to get them in stores. General Mills’ Dunkaroos has confirmed that the cookie-and-frosting ‘90s snack will be back in May.

The iconic Dunkaroos Vanilla Cookies and Vanilla Frosting with Rainbow Sprinkles will be available at participating 7-Eleven stores in late May. Then, they’ll roll out nationwide at other convenience stores and grocery retailers in July.

When the news first came out in February that Dunkaroos were making this summer, it seemed so far away. After all, they were a big part of our childhoods, since they were on shelves from 1992 to May 2012. So we’re feeling pretty lucky that they’re coming back even before the official summer!

While ‘90s kids will never agree on which boyband reigned supreme (the correct answer is *NSYNC), we can all agree that Dunkaroos were the best snack of all time! Finding one in your lunchbox was like Christmas morning, and they were the ultimate lunch table flex. After years of hearing our cries, General Mills is bringing back the cherished treat in summer 2020!

Rumors started circulating that the cookie-and-frosting dipping snack would be coming back when the verified Instagram account posted a picture of vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles with the eyes emoji as the caption on Jan. 24. People quickly began getting their hopes up (as one does), but just like the Spice Girls came back into our lives, so are Dunkaroos.

“The iconic cookie and frosting duo will be available for dunking this summer in its most requested and beloved flavor: Vanilla Cookies and Vanilla Frosting with Rainbow Sprinkles,” a PR rep confirmed. We don’t see a reason why Dunkaroos won’t be bringing back its vanilla cookies with chocolate frosting flavor as well. It has to just be a matter of time, right?

Dunkaroos were such an important snack in the ‘90s that brands like Yoplait, Walmart, and Lunchables made their own versions. As tasty as they may be, nothing beats the original. So if you need to get in touch with anyone from the generation of denim, frosted tips, and Tamagotchis this summer, check the snack aisle.
