Season 1 of Stranger Things feels like a lifetime ago, especially because we had to wait nearly three years (!!!) between the release of seasons 3 and 4. The masterminds behind Netflix's fan-favorite series, the Duffer Brothers, have been known to tweak and edit the show after it's already been released for the world to watch (see: them accidentally forgetting Will Byers' birthday in Stranger Things 4). These changes are pretty hard to catch as they usually affect minor details, but a Stranger Things fan on TikTok was quick to point out an edited scene dating back to the show's first season.

"The Duffer Brothers taking scenes out of S1 to try to make Jonathan look like less of a perv," TikTok user @joshy.bassetts wrote over a clip of her dancing. In case you weren't around when season 1 first premiered on Netflix, there was originally a storyline where Jonathan sneakily took photos of Nancy and her friends, including moments where she was getting undressed.

Per reports by TV Line and Insider, fans recently found the edit in Season 1, Episode 2, "The Weirdo on Maple Street." While the scene of Jonathan taking creepy photos of his future girlfriend Nancy through a window was cut, the photo is still revealed in another part of the episode where Steve and his buddies confront Jonathan for his weird behavior.

Throughout the rest of the series, Jonathan is known for his good-guy demeanor, so this early storyline doesn't really fit his vibe anymore. While the revision makes sense for Jonathan's character development, the Duffer Brothers have yet to publicly comment on this specific edit. "We have George Lucas'd things also that people don't know about," Matt Duffer told Variety in June 2022 about potentially fixing Will's birthday through edits. Ross Duffer then explained, "You do have the physical copies though, the Blu-rays and stuff — you'd have to compare."
