Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall gave an update on her father-in-law's condition today, while undertaking an engagement at a vaccination center. Prince Philip is “slightly improving,” she said, per royal reporter Chris Ship. She also noted that Philip's treatment “hurts at moments,” and that she and her fellow royal family members “keep our fingers crossed” for him.

Philip, 99, was admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London in mid-February. At the time, Buckingham Palace released a statement announcing that this step had been taken "after feeling unwell" (it was understood that his condition was not related to COVID-19, for which Philip had been vaccinated in January, and later emerged that Philip was suffering from an "infection"). "The Duke’s admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of His Royal Highness’s Doctor, after feeling unwell," it read. "The Duke is expected to remain in hospital for a few days of observation and rest."

On Monday, Philip was moved to a second hospital; this time, the palace noted that his treatment would include "testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition":

"The Duke of Edinburgh was today transferred from King Edward VII’s Hospital to St Bartholomew’s Hospital where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection, as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition. The Duke remains comfortable and is responding to treatment but is expected to remain in hospital until at least the end of the week."
