Anwar Hadid worried fans after sharing several troubling posts on Sunday evening, shortly after his ex-girlfriend Dua Lipa made her new relationship with boyfriend Romain Gavras red carpet official.

The singer’s public debut in Cannes with the French director sparked a flurry of conversation online, which seemingly included a response from Hadid.

In the photo—shared to Instagram Story and since deleted—the brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid can be seen looking down at the camera. He captioned the snap, “Trying to not to find and kill him,” along with a smiley face.

Hadid later shared the same photo on his Instagram feed, though this time, he chose to promote his new single, “The Skurgh,” instead.

There were a few more concerning posts, including a mirror selfie on IG Story with the caption, “I cant [sic] breath [sic],” along with a shot of the ground that read, “I hate the way you say my name.” Another photo, also of the ground, simply stated, "Have fun."

Though he does not refer to Dua or her boyfriend, nor has he provided any context behind the posts, the timing of the cryptic and alarming Instagram Stories led fans to believe it was about his ex’s relationship reveal, with many calling them “weird” and “disturbing.”

Hadid and Dua dated for over two years from 2019 through 2021.

The pop star, who is set to appear in the upcoming Barbie movie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling—and will even release a new single from the soundtrack titled “Dance the Night” this Friday—hit the Cannes Film Festival with her new beau for the film Omar La Fraise (The King of Algiers) at the Palais des Festivals.

The “Levitating” crooner, 26, and the 41-year-old, who was previously linked to Rita Ora, first sparked romance rumors in February, and they looked even more smitten with each other on the red carpet as they complimented each other’s elegant black attire.

"Last night in Cannes with my sweetheart," the singer wrote on social media, making their relationship Instagram official as well.

Dua previously fueled romance rumors with former Daily Show host Trevor Noah, 39.
