Dua Lipa Celebrates Her New Albanian Citizenship in a Plunging Knit Dress and Cardigan Set
Dua Lipa is living her best life as Albania's newest citizen. And to say that we're so here for her celebratory fashion choice of a plunging knit dress and off-the-shoulder cardigan set would be an understatement.
ICYMI, the London-born singer whose parents are Albanian immigrants was granted citizenship on November 27 by President Bajram Begaj. To mark the occasion, Begaj tweeted, "Happy to give the one and only @DUALIPA the decree of Albanian citizenship. She has made us proud with her global career and engagement in important social causes."
According to The Associated Press, Dua said that being offered Albanian citizenship "is an indescribable great joy with such acceptance, love, and everything." When she accepted her official citizenship documents, as seen on Instagram, she wore a bright blue, red-checkered long-sleeve from Bottega Veneta's resort 2023 runway that gave chic, business casual vibes. But for the celebration the next day, Dua changed into a more party-ready, knit LBD look.
Serving her patriotic realness while holding a large Albanian flag, Dua posted up on the 'gram wearing a ribbed, halter-neck black dress with an oversized, cuffed long-sleeve cardigan. Just like her ceremony dress, the plunging and unbuttoned set also hails from Bottega Veneta's resort 2023 collection. Intricate weaving and a scalloped hem added visual interest to the frock, turning the aesthetic from cozy and casual to glam and sleek. A few key accessories also added a touch of vintage to her look — like her sheer black tights and shiny, red patent leather t-strap heels with a golden, architectural wedge. For jewelry, a simple silver pinky ring and earrings accompanied her look. Makeup was kept natural to go with her wavy locks, with the Future Nostalgia touring gal wearing a pink-nude lip, groomed eyebrows, and rose blush.
