Driver Wearing a Bud Light Beer Can Costume Arrested on Suspicion of DUI
We all know that you should never get behind the wheel after knocking back a few, but one Kansas driver took things to an even more unwise level by wearing a giant Bud Light beer can costume while allegedly doing just that.
According to Fox 4 News Kansas City, the incident occurred on Cinco de Mayo when Franklin County sheriff’s deputies were alerted of a driver who evidently appeared intoxicated. But even officers at the scene were not prepared for what happened next, as they shared on the law enforcement agency's Facebook page.
"A career in law enforcement is exciting, and you get to experience something new every day. Sometimes you see things you can’t believe!" the May 6 post read. "Yesterday, our deputies were notified of a possible intoxicated driver traveling northbound on Interstate 35. The vehicle was located and eventually pulled over. Deputies were surprised to see that the driver was wearing a beer can costume."
"Yes, you read that correctly," the post quipped.
The post continued, writing that the driver "was eventually placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Franklin County Jail," adding that "as always, suspects are innocent until proven guilty."
An accompanying photo appears to show the costumed driver performing a field sobriety test on the side of the highway.
Fortunately, no one, including the driver himself, was injured as a result of the incident. Going forward he'll hopefully think to call himself an Uber, and maybe think about retiring the costume.
