So are heart-shaped crossbody bags. Drew Barrymore is the latest to show the bag trend some serious love when she arrived outside of CBS Studios with a sunny heart-shaped crossbody bag.
Named one of Vogue's top bag trends of 2023, the heart-shaped purse, which looks like an iconic Godiva candy box, has come and gone over the years. Savvy thrift shoppers have scored vintage Chanel heart bags from past collections. The design house is also credited with helping to bring back the look. Chanel models carried quilted heart-shaped bags down the runway during the Spring/Summer 2022 show.

Other brands and TikTokers have also been spreading the love. The Kate Spade heart-shaped bag sold out after it went viral on TikTok late last year, according to Tapestry CEO Joanne Crevoiserat.
Coach Outlet, which is also under the Tapestry umbrella, also saw a surge in sales. Thankfully, it was back in stock in time for Valentine's Day. The trend — just like the beat — continues to go on.
TikTok double-taps and fame aside, the silhouette makes a bold statement during a time when the world feels figuratively frigid. A heart-shaped purse can also sweeten a business look, like Barrymore's pinstriped suit, or a moto jacket with so-trendy baggy jeans. If nothing else, they provide a fun departure from square and rectangular purses that typically dominate retailers' stock.
