All the Dramatic Moments You Missed From The Voice's Massive Eliminations Last Night
The Voice season 17 Top 8 Elimination Night was full of surprises.
Here's a recap of the most talked-about moments, including the results and the performances by coaches Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton.
The Voice left fans with a lot feelings last night. Some were thrilled that their favorite contestant made it through to the final four. Others were furious that their artist got cut, or had to compete for the Instant Save. Basically, everyone had a lot to say.
Let’s start with the results.
Katie Kadan, Ricky Duran, Rose Short, and Jake Hoot are season 17’s final four singers. CountryLiving.com readers are pretty split about who could win, so next week is going to be a big toss-up.
That aside, there were a lot of heated reactions to the other four eliminations and the Instant Save competitors.
To start, viewers were shocked that Will Breman and Marybeth Byrd were cut. Specifically, the majority couldn’t believe that those two had less votes than duo Hello Sunday, who was given the chance to perform in hopes of garnering the Instant Save.
Will Breman should be in the finale, and win it. I won’t watch it anymore, not interested. 👎

#TheVoice is all messed up honestly like these top 4 people are all the ones me and everyone I know expected to go home except for Katie she deserves to be there.
It should've been Katie, Marybeth, Rose, and Hello Sunday. Not Jake or Kat. Sorry. @NBCTheVoice I stopped watching.— Laura Filmore (@LauraFilmore) December 11, 2019
What a load of crap, @NBCTheVoice , how did hello Sunday even make it tonite when they did not even make the top 100 on iTunes, this show has now become more rigged than anything I have seen, FAKE. FAKE . FAKE

How did Hello Sunday and Kat Hammock make it over Will Breman? 🤦🏽♀️😫 #TheVoice #thevoice2019

Going from there, it was also pretty clear that they thought it was an outrage that Rose wasn’t automatically put through to the finale.
Rose should of been the 1st or 2nd person called she shouldn't even be in the bottom 3 she can out sing anybody on the show. If she don't get the last spot I kno it's rigged and I will no longer be watching periodt!!!!#VoiceResults

Imagine Rose getting a standing ovation every single performance and having to sing for safety....
Wtf are the viewers on?

Then there were the performances.
It’s incredibly hard to get The Voice audience on board for the celebrity performances. Meghan Trainor, for example, got plenty of heat for her outfit last week, and let’s not even talk about John Legend and Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” This episode, the singers didn’t get off much easier.
Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins took the stage to perform Blake’s single “Hell Right.” People are obsessed with Blake’s music (psst, he’s putting out a new love song with Gwen Stefani) but the tweets here ranged from loving it to questioning its appropriateness.
OMG! Trace & Blake 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 My 2 favorite country artists ❤️ #TheVoice pic.twitter.com/txUmGI01C9

What a Hypocrite Blake is and the whole production as a whole for that matter! Blake comes out singing Hell Right and in the same breath Merry Christmas all and God Bless. What a joke!!!...#TheVoice

Very disappointed in Blake for singing a song like God’s Country and then singing Hell Right. And then even more disappointed that he sang Hell Right tonight on The Voice and then said Merry Christmas to everyone. #TheVoice

Next, Australian star Tones and I belted out the hit “Dance Monkey” and wow, did people have thoughts on that.

@NBCTheVoice the last guest singer (blonde) was nothing compared to anyone who has been on #TheVoice this season. I guess I’m just old; had no idea what she was even saying🤔

Then, Kaleb Lee and Kelly performed “I Dream in Southern,” and though the song itself went relatively troll-free, Kelly’s outfit didn’t get off so lucky.
@kellyclarkson looked sooo great last night in that blue Sharp outfit... Tonight it looks like she's in her flannel robe but she still sounds great😊😊#thevoice Always curious if they get to choose what clothes they wear or they're picked out by somebody else?💙💙 @NBCTheVoice pic.twitter.com/2doo08lQsM

There were so many little moments that we missed, too.
Like when Blake flat-out told since-eliminated Kat Hammock that "This journey doesn’t matter."
“I hope that you make it through, but if you don’t I’ll talk to you in a couple of days,” he said. Forget The Voice, how do we get on Blake’s team for life?
Will was also caught mouthing something to the cameras when he was about to get the nix. It looks like, “Thank you everybody,” but we can’t be too sure.
And remember when Gwen told Rose she was the most talented person she’s ever worked with? Sorry, Blake, you’ve got some competition!
"You are the most talented human being I've been around," says Gwen to Rose. Er... sorry, Blake. #TheVoice
