This skin condition definitely runs in the family.

In a new video from Dr. Pimple Popper, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD meets Jesse and Nelda, a brother and sister with matching skin problems. Both have angry red patches on various body parts, including some bumps that spew pus when squeezed.

Lee is intrigued by the large red bumps on the back of Jesse's neck, one of which leaks a bit of pus during the examination. "I have some ideas of what Jesse's condition may be, but I can't get past the fact that he has such a severe breakout on the back of his neck," Lee says. "That's pretty rare."

Believe it or not, Lee determines the neck bumps are actually "pretty calm right now."

"I can tell that the bumps on the back of his neck are dormant, but I know that if this area gets inflamed, gets infected, there's going to be a lot of redness, a lot of oozing, perhaps a lot of odor, and extreme pain and just being miserable," she says.

Next, Lee examines Nelda, who has dormant lesions in both of her armpits. It isn't long before the dermatologist gives the siblings a diagnosis:

"You both are correct, in a sense that I think your conditions are sort of related," she says. "This is definitely a hidradenitis suppurativa. We don't really know what causes this condition. The bad news is that there is no real cure."

The Mayo Clinic defines hidradenitis suppurativa as "a skin condition that causes small, painful lumps to form under the skin. The lumps can break open, or tunnels can form under the skin. The condition mostly affects areas where the skin rubs together, such as the armpits, groin, buttocks and breasts."

In a Thursday Instagram post, Lee gave fans additional footage of Jesse talking about his skin issues.

"I hope youre able to help him," one commenter wrote. "He seems like such a sweet person who needs and deserves relief/answers."
